TAYLOR KOZE

MIKE VALVANO
Certifications: Level 5 USA Hockey Coaching Certification and an extensive background when it comes to training youth hockey goalies.
Experience: Mike has been an instructor for many camps/clinics including the NJ Devils Youth Hockey Clinic, Garden State Training Camp, Montclair Blues Goalie Clinic, and “Give’em Nothing” Goaltending School. Has has also served as goalie director for Todd Drevitch’s Hockey Techniques.
Teams: Between 1999 and 2008 Mike had the position of Goalie Coach for the NJ Colonials, NJ Lightening, and NJ Blizzards. He is currently coaching for the NJ Freeze, Randolph High School, and Montville High School.

LINDSAY TILLEY (H.E.A.T. POWER SKATING INSTUCTOR)

About Me: I started skating at age 4 and have been involved with the sport ever since, either as a Skating Director or private/group instructor. I’ve trained students at the Regional, Sectional, and National level of competition. I have a penchant for encouraging young skaters to excel and helping adults find joy and pleasure in their skating at both the recreational and competitive level. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys!

About Me: Katie started skating with her dad when she was 9 years old. Katie loves teaching children and adults to love the sport as much as she does. In addition to teaching at the rink, she have worked for Aspen Ice for 7 years. Outside of the rink she enjoys drawing, spending time outdoors and being with friends and family!


KAITLYN CASTELLI

Other Accomplishments: Invited to attend Camp Mishin in Spain, Competed throughout the country.
About: I first stepped on the ice at 5 years old and ever since then I fell in love with the ice. I was taken out of public school and started homeschooling so I can train all day, every day. I dedicated my whole life to skating, and sacrificed so many things in order to achieve my goals. Outside of the rink, I share a love for dancing from ballet, to jazz, to ballroom. I also love working out in the gym when I’m not on the ice, and I love spending time with my family, and friends.

AIMÉE RICCA

Certifications: USFSA Professional Coach/Choreographer and Group Instructor CER’s (Category A). PSA Rated (BA), Ranked (Level I), and Insured. Learn to Skate USA Certified and SafeSport Trained. IYCA Youth Fitness Specialist Level 1 Certification and American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certified. Member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Coach participant in Olympic Coach Kori Ade’s Specialized High Aptitude Resource Program (SHARP 4 Sports). Bachelor of Arts in Communication from William Paterson University.
Competitions: Competes Locally and Nationally. A three-time competitor at Adult Sectionals: Bronze Medalist (2018) in Pre-Bronze Freeskate and 2019 Eastern Adult Competition Series Pre-Bronze Pewter Medalist. Performed at the 2017 Skate America Smucker’s Skating Spectacular in Lake Placid, NY.
About: Aimée began skating at the age of three, on a lake in Chatham, NJ, with pair skates handed down from a babysitter. She asked her parents for skating lessons, and they enrolled her in group lessons. Aimée skated recreationally until the age of 11 when her family moved away from the area. She skated every once in a while, through college. At the age of 40, Aimée decided to try skating again and quickly became heavily involved with the sport and competing, something she had wanted to do as a child. Aimée is always looking to advance her skating as well as her coaching techniques attending on-ice clinics whenever she can. She is a member of The Skating Club of New York and volunteers as an ice monitor at local, national, and Grand Prix competitions. In addition to skating, she is a marketing and communications consultant and spends time with her partner Colin and three rescue cats: Ashlynne, Brexie, and C.C.

Other Accomplishments/About: Skating director at Ice World in Totowa, NJ in 1983. Director of figure skating camp at Penn State University in State College, PA for 5 years. International Skating Institute (ISI) 1986, international judge in Hong Kong, China and a National judge for ISI in Dallas Texas. Attended a North American Training Center in Lake Placid, NY. In 2007, instituted a skating program for William Patterson University called Skating 101. Kathy continues to teach basic skills, freestyle techniques, and moves in the field full time.

About Me: I started skating when I was 3 years old. Outside of the rink I like to spend time with friends and family. I am currently competing senior ice dance with my partner on the National level.

About: I started skating when was 10 and shortly after I started participating in the Aspen Ice homeschool program. I switched my hockey skates to figure skates, and ever since then I’ve been in love with the ice. I now work at the rink as a skate guard and a birthday party hostess!

About: In 2014, my mom asked me to pick three summer camps, to decide which sport that I wanted to do. I chose swimming, horseback riding, and ice skating. After having such an awesome time with the coaches, my friends, and a newfound interest, I chose ice skating. Ever since then, I have become so close with my fellow skater and coaches, and I now consider Aspen Ice my second home.

CHRISTOPHER WAN

Competitions: Currently an International Competitor, Gold & Bronze Medalist at North Atlantic Regionals, three-time Eastern Sectional Competitor, Southwest Pacific Regional Competitor, and Junior National Competitor.

About Me: My goal is to build skaters to become mentally and physically strong. I started skating shortly after my sister started figure skating lessons. My mother gave us the choice between swimming and skating; my sister chose swimming and I chose skating, for I simply could not swim. Outside of the rink I enjoy fishing, spending time outdoors, and playing table tennis.
